Growing Newcastle law firm achieves £1.3m turnover in first 18 months
A new North East commercial law firm has achieved a turnover of £1.3m after just 18 months in business.
Paul Monaghan, managing partner at St James’ Square, established the company in 2017 alongside investor Brad Holbrook and fellow founding partner Andrew Carser.
The firm initially operated from a room at Hoults Yard in Newcastle but later expanded into a 5,000 sq ft office at Esh Plaza in Newcastle Great Park, where it now employs a team of 28.
St James’ Square has forecast its turnover to reach £1.6m by the end of the year, having outperformed the whole of 2017 in the first quarter of this year.
Co-founder Paul said: “St James’ Square is not like any other law firm. We are a dynamic business that, although growing at a phenomenal rate, always goes the extra mile for our clients.
“Where we’ve really excelled is in the connection that we have with staff and clients. We know what it’s like to run a business because we are running our own every day.”
He added: “We offer a Rolls Royce service at a fraction of the price and by using state-of-the-art technology it means our service is more cost-effective, more efficient and more accurate for clients.”
St James’ Square’s clients include travel agents Hays Travel, car sharing club Co-wheels, healthy eating business The Naked Deli, Premier Care Homes and commercial vehicle hire company Northgate plc.
Joe Riddell, Northgate’s head of property for the UK and Ireland, commented: “We have worked with St James’ Square for a while now and their ability to understand the commercial requirements of our business and react accordingly has been so refreshing.
“I know for certain that I wouldn’t be able to do my job if the St James’ Square team weren’t there to support us every step of the way.”
