Diversity Board launched under the Institute of Coding

Today, the Government-funded Institute of Coding (IoC), has announced the appointment of its Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board which aims to provide strategic guidance on diversity and inclusion, particularly with respect to education and early employment.

The board’s main aim is to set the direction and agenda for the IoC and provide advice and support for its implementation. It will monitor the progress of the IoC against the success criteria and ensure that diversity and inclusion is integral in everything the IoC delivers. As part of this remit, members of the board will support campaigns to raise awareness of digital skills courses and encourage a more participation from people from diverse backgrounds.

The new board consists of 14 executive members from key organisations, including; Code First: Girls, Tech She Can Charter, Tech Talent Charter, Association of Colleges, Tectre, Web Science Institute, Atos, ADA National College for Digital Skills, RNIB, Business Disability Forum, EY, Queen Mary’s University London and consultants.
