Jakki Shines Bright for the Christie
Jakki Humphreys from Cadishead, has been shining bright, raising money for the wonderful Christie hospital.
The Christie means an awful lot to Jakki, as she explained, “At just 15 months old my nephew was diagnosed with brain tumours; he had 5 brain operations and 18 months of intensive chemo and through it all the Christie were extremely supportive to my brother and sister in law”.
Jakki joined her boyfriend, Anthony Craig, on the Christie’s ‘Night of Neon’ walk walking 10 dazzling kilometres to raise money for the wonderful Christie hospital. The Christie urges all the walkers to don their brightest neon clothing, dig out their glow sticks and leg-warmers and take part to raise funds for this vital institution.
“My nephew is now 11 and doing well, so this is my way of saying ‘thank you’ to the Christie and all its amazing staff”, added Jakki.
Jakki’s works as a Parts Advisor at Swansway TPS Manchester and her fund raising was supported by a donation from family owned Swansway Motor Group which makes a donation to every employee who takes part in a charity fund-raising event.
