Home builder recognised for making a difference in the community

National home builder, Keepmoat Homes has been recognised by the North East Equality Awards for its work to make a difference in the community.

The developer which has an office in Hebburn and developments across the North East including Coxhoe, Darlington and Seaham, was named the joint winner of the “Larger Organisarion Making a Difference in the Community” category and also the winner of the “Outstanding Achievement Award”.

The awards recognise the work which Keepmoat Homes does within the community including working with local primary schools and colleges. In Coxhoe Keepmoat has also supported Oreoluwa Okunuga, a fourth year Construction Project Management student at Northumbria University from the village of Bowburn, offering him a placement for his final year and the role of trainee site manager.

Speaking about the award win, Geoff Scott, Social & Economic Impact Manager for Keepmoat Homes in the North East said: “We’re very proud to have won both awards, which recognise our work throughout the year. At Keepmoat we’re focused on more than just bricks and mortar, we strive to work with and support the communities around all our developments in order to deliver a positive impact.

“We would like to thank all the schools, colleges, community groups and partner organisations throughout the North East who have worked with us so far and we look forward to continuing and growing these relationships in the future.”
