Grade II-listed Sheffield building becomes student homes with £530k makeover

Property investor Sevenhills Estates Ltd has used £530k funding to renovate a Grade II-listed building in Sheffield.

Sevenhills put six-figure boost from Cambridge & Counties Bank towards transforming Vestry Hall, located near the heart of the Sheffield University campus on Crookesmoor Road, into 21 bedrooms and living space for students.

The 19th-century property has been vacant for several years and required a full overhaul after falling into disrepair due to water damage and structural movements.

Sheffield’s is home to around 65,000 students. Several large student developments have been built in recent years or and more are under construction, but Sevenhills said the majority are based around the city centre.

Bo Khan, director and founder of Sevenhills Estates, explained: “Demand for student accommodation in Sheffield remains as strong as ever, and the opportunity as well as the business case for us to renovate Vestry Hall was compelling.

“Cambridge & Counties Bank has supported my business during the last few years and once again provided the right funding solution and valuable support which allowed us to carry out this exciting development.”
