Senior Banker Joins Leading Yorkshire Developer
One of the region’s best known bankers, with 38 years in the profession, has joined Yorkshire property development company S Harrison.
David Salisbury has headed specialist property banking units across the north of England for the past 18 years. He now joins S Harrison as part of their impressive development team.
According to David, who has been involved in many high profile deals across the region and provided funding support for major plcs and privately owned development businesses over the past decade, it was the consistent track record and the quality of the Harrison team across the board that led him to join the privately owned York-based company.
‘Having seen property deals from the perspective of the funder for many years I have always wanted to work on the other side, taking a more holistic view in putting deals together. I have worked with Harrison on a number of projects and always been impressed by their integrity and the way they deal up front and honestly with people. At the same time, they are independent and adaptable, and I will relish the dynamism that goes with that. For me, it is a perfect fit.’
David, 56, first joined Midland Bank in 1980, moving swiftly into corporate banking, taking his first managerial appointment in Birmingham in the mid 80s.
In 1995 he joined Bank of Scotland heading a team specialising in management buy-in/buy-outs which funded a number of high-profile deals in the West Midlands.
He moved to Leeds in 2000, then to the North West in 2005 where he was instrumental in the Media City deal which created the biggest media campus in Europe, now hosting over 250 businesses and a community of 7000 people. Since 2010 he has headed RBS’ property specialist team in Yorkshire and the North East, managing a portfolio of over £1bn.
David lives in Ellerton, East Yorkshire. He is married with three adult sons. A fell walker and golfer, he is also a keen landscape photographer who often donates his images to raise funds for charity.
Commenting on his appointment, S Harrison chairman Martyn Harrison said: ‘We have worked with David for many years and always had a huge respect for his market knowledge and his rounded vision on property matters. We have a fantastic team at all levels here at Harrison and David’s arrival further strengthens that pool of talent.’
S Harrison recently reported profit expectations for 2018 of over £10m on a turnover exceeding £40m, double the profit performance of the previous year.
