Biker Group invests £800k and creates jobs at new Dalton depot

North Yorkshire-based Biker Group has created five jobs and invested £800k at its newest depot near Thirsk.

The construction services company is expanding services at the facility, located at Dalton Industrial Estate, by investing in a new concrete batching plant and two concrete mixer trucks.

Biker Group hired drivers, office staff and a batcher at the depot, which launched last year and serves clients across Yorkshire and the North East.

The family-owned company’s services include haulage, groundworks, joinery, construction, recycling and waste management..

Biker Group’s established volumix concrete division will use the new plant facility to provide a ready-mix concrete service, supported by the two mixer trucks.

Operations manager Sam Biker said: “The new plant and mixer trucks will support the continued growth of our concrete division. The investment is part of a five-year strategic plan to expand all divisions across the business.

“There will be on-going investment in plant and personnel, and growing the concrete division is in line with the company’s vision.”

Sam added: “The latest investment is also in response to demand from domestic and commercial customers, as well as housebuilders and the farming industry.”

Biker Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by chairman Tony Biker. It now directly employs 176 people, with more than 70 new jobs created in the last five years.
