Another week, another award for Gisborough Hall
Following its success at the White Rose Awards at the start of the month, Gisborough Hall is celebrating after clinching another prestigious tourism award.
The 4*, independent hotel won the bronze award in the North East England Tourism Awards in the Hotel of the Year category.
The 4* hotel was the only one in the Tees Valley area to make the final five, up against Doxford Hall, Headlam Hall, Langley Castle and Seaham Hall in the finals. The gold award went to ADD, while ADD won the silver gong.
This year’s awards received a record number of entries with other winners including ADD.
The awards showcase the range of high-quality tourism businesses and experiences on offer to visitors across the region with the tourism sector being the fourth largest in the North East, highlighting the importance of the businesses working in the sector to the wider economy.
Earlier this month, Gisborough Hall received the ‘Highly Commended’ recognition at the White Rose Awards, the UK’s biggest hospitality awards, in the ‘Large Hotel’ category.
Gisborough Hall became a fully-independent and self-managed hotel in April 2017 and employs over 100 local people across the hotel, in its restaurants, bars and Revival Zone. This number is set to increase further with the creation of a new multi-million-pound spa.
The luxury, four-star hotel, on the outskirts of Guisborough, was named as one of TripAdvisor’s top-rated places to stay last summer, gaining another Certificate of Excellence for its exemplary standards and service.
In addition, Gisborough Hall is also one of TripAdvisor’s ‘Green Leader’ award holders in recognition of its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices.
Ruairidh Taylor, hotel manager, said: “This is another brilliant accolade for the team in the run up tour busiest time of the year. It’s fantastic recognition for our staff who have had a hectic year, adjusting to being a full-independent hotel. We never rest on our laurels however and will constantly strive to be the best and exceed our guests’ expectations.”
