The Real Meaning of Christmas
The Christmas light display at Carters Green Farm in Weston, Crewe is renowned throughout the area and shows the true spirit of Christmas; for Graham Witter, 25, and his family this will be the sixth year they’ve put on this display to fund-raise for Donna Louise hospice.
This event began as a way of remembering Graham’s late sister, Jessica, who spent time at the Donna Louise and who loved twinkling lights, bright colours and sounds. Graham’s dedication to the event has resulted in £65,550 being raised to date, as Graham explains, “As a family we know what other families are going through and it’s wonderful to know that in some small way we are helping by supporting Donna Louise Hospice, who in turn can support them”.
Every year Graham makes sure the display gets bigger and better and 2018 is no exception with 1,600 LED lights just on the Christmas Tree! For the second year Graham’s magical event is sponsored by local business, family-owned Swansway Motor Group. Their up-front donation allows Graham to invest in new and exciting displays, as well as assisting the Donna Louise Hospice.
Swansway director, David Smyth, explained, “The work that Graham and his family do in supporting the Donna Louise Hospice is truly humbling. As a Dad of three children, I’m in absolute awe of the way they have remembered Jessica. I always take my family to the display every year and I’d urge everyone to do the same”.
“Weston Christmas Lights are the true embodiment of the Christmas spirit, both magical and meaningful, please join us in supporting them”, added David.
