LIVERPOOL’S FIRST FLOATATION THERAPY CENTRE FLOAT PLANET OPENS TO AN OVERWHELMING RESPONSE
Float Planet, Liverpool’s first floatation therapy centre, is opening in the heart of the city centre.
The Dale Street-based centre will be home to three enormous floatation tanks, which those who want to reduce their stress and anxiety, improve their overall wellbeing or help with sport recovery, can visit to float.
Floating allows those taking part to achieve profound relaxation, through floating in water that has been heated to skin temperature (35.5°C to be exact!) and has over 1000lb of Epsom salts dissolved into it.
Also known as R.E.S.T (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy), floating involves lying effortlessly on your back in a specially designed floatation tank that blocks out all external distractions including sight, sound, tactile sensations and gravity for an hour.
Those floating are completely in control of their surroundings and if they prefer, can have some light or sound throughout to make them feel more comfortable.
Floatation therapy is a huge sensation in America and has celebrity fans including Zac Efron and American star Joe Rogan, and now Float Planet has been inundated by Scousers who want to experience the magic of floating too.
Float Planet co-founder Michael Partington, 27, from Liverpool said: “Float Planet will give those from Liverpool and beyond an alternative way of reducing stress, anxiety and life’s everyday pressures. Our floatation tanks are amongst the best in the world and will give you a fantastic experience.”
Fellow co-founder Lee Owens, 32 from Liverpool, added: “Floatation therapy is totally unique. It gives you a chance to switch off, put your phone away and ignore all distractions while you invest in yourself for an hour. Mental health, sports recovery and overall wellbeing is so important and it’s time we all took care of ourselves a little better.”
