Pixel Kicks creates new online presence for Manchester comedy institution
Pixel Kicks, the Manchester based full-service digital agency, has created and launched a brand new website for iconic comedy club Frog & Bucket.
The project has seen the Pixel Kicks team completely redesign the venue’s old and out-dated website, resulting in a modern site with a focus on making it easy as possible for comedy fans to quickly find, browse and book tickets to performances.
The agency has also worked hard to improve the site’s branding, overall style and usability. As a result of consumer behavior, careful attention has also been made to make it as mobile friendly as possible and it is fully SEO optimised.
Much of the creative thinking has been based around two core themes: “The Award Winning Comedy Club” and “One Mic, One Stage, One Frog”.
Chris Buckley – MD of Pixel Kicks – said: “Frog & Bucket is the cornerstone of Manchester’s vibrant comedy scene with a long and illustrious heritage, so this was an amazing project for us to work on. We wanted the new website to reflect its pedigree but also be a platform on which it can build its future. I think we’ve achieved that balance.”
Jessica Toomey – managing director of Frog & Bucket added: “Pixel Kicks has done a great job in encapsulating what Frog & Bucket stands for. We are delighted with the new site and can’t wait for our customers to feel the benefit as we carry on supporting northern acts and staging truly fantastic and exciting live stand up.”
Frog & Bucket opened its doors in 1994 and then moved to its current site on Oldham Street in 1997. It is considered by many to be Manchester’s most loved comedy club. Over the years its weekend shows and amateur nights have seen performances from some of comedy’s biggest names including Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay, John Bishop, Lee Mack, Dave Gorman, Chris Addison, Ross Noble, Lucy Porter and Jason Manford. Now open four nights a week, Frog and Bucket continues to provide a place where young talent is nurtured and Manchester can check out the stars of the future.
