New £2.4m hospitality development set to open at intu Watford
Leisure operator, Hollywood Bowl Group will open its 59th entertainment centre, at the extended intu Watford in December, after an investment of £2.4m.
As part of the intu Watford retail and leisure complex’s wider £180m extension, the 23,600 sq ft Hollywood Bowl will open its doors before Christmas, joining brands like IMAX Cineworld, TGI Fridays and Yo! Sushi on the site, creating 40 new jobs in the process.
Steve Burns, CEO at Hollywood Bowl Group, said: “intu operates some of the UK’s most popular retail destinations, so we’re very excited to be bringing another Hollywood Bowl to the company’s portfolio of shopping centres - following in the footsteps of the hugely successful Hollywood Bowl at intu Derby, which opened in April 2017.
“Our aim is to encourage intu shoppers to join us for a bowl, a drink and a meal before, during or after their shopping trip; and for local residents to visit us with family and friends.
“With the huge number of commercial outlets and offices located within easy reach of our new central Watford centre, we’re also looking forward to offering brilliant team nights out and corporate parties with a difference.”
The new Hollywood Bowl at intu Watford will include 14 fully computerised lanes, which can be pre-booked.
Vicki Costello, general manager at intu Watford, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Hollywood Bowl to the new development of intu Watford.
“This highly-anticipated addition will give families, friends and businesses a fantastic leisure offering to complete a great day or night out in Watford.”
