Newcastle Building Society opens revamped Gosforth branch early
The upgraded Gosforth branch of Newcastle Building Society has reopened its doors to customers earlier than expected.
The company, which is the largest building society in the North East, has created an improved, open-plan branch on Gosforth High Street as part of a continuing multi-million-pound investment programme across its network of bricks-and-mortar sites.
Newcastle Building Society says the upgraded 1,400 sq ft branch will provide its customers with better access to services, information and advice, as well as additional space for carrying out transactions.
The new design also includes a community area, which offers a free space in which local people and groups can hold meetings and events.
The reopening was set to take place next week, but the work was completed more quickly than expected. The official launch celebrations will still take place on Thursday 13 December, however, with Santa Claus making an appearance to provide gifts for visiting children.
Newcastle Building Society’s customer director, Stuart Miller, said: “Work at our Gosforth branch has progressed really well over the last few weeks and we’re pleased to be reopening our doors to customers old and new earlier than we originally planned.
“Our Gosforth branch team is looking forward to welcoming everyone into their enhanced new branch, and we’re certain everyone will be impressed by what they see.”
