Barratt Homes raises road safety awareness with help from local school

Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes Yorkshire East, has installed a brand new banner promoting road safety awareness at its Cherry Tree Court development in Woodmansey, thanks to the help of Keldmarsh Primary School pupils.

Children from Keldmarsh Primary School in Beverley were invited to create their own road safety designs as part of a competition during Road Safety Week, which ran from 19th – 25th November, putting their imagination and creative skills into practice.

The two talented winners, Archie Bean and Muireann Kennedy, saw their designs transformed into colourful road safety banners and installed outside the Cherry Tree Court development to remind local drivers to drive carefully. Archie, aged 8, imaginatively incorporated a ‘Stop, Look, Listen’ slogan whilst Muireann, aged 7, impressed with her ‘Slow down for a happier town’ rhyme.

Claire Barber, Sales Adviser at Cherry Tree Court, commented: “At Barratt Homes we’re mindful of promoting road safety awareness wherever possible, particularly amongst the younger generation. We were delighted to work alongside the children at Keldmarsh Primary School on this activity and choosing a winner was extremely difficult. All the designs that we received were of a very high standard, so a special well done to Archie and Muireann for winning the competition with their wonderful designs.”
