Anytime Fitness to open ‘functional training’ concept gym near Watford
Gym operator Anytime Fitness is opening a 24-hour facility in Croxley Park, near Watford.
The venue will span 7,000 sq ft across two floors and create nearly 30 jobs when it opens in the new year.
Boasting the franchise’s new ‘Gen 2’ look, the club’s interior will be split into separate training zones in response to the growing popularity of ‘functional training’ – an approach incorporating exercises that allow individuals to more easily perform the activities of daily life.

Anytime Fitness was founded in the US in 2002 and now operates more than 150 UK fitness clubs.
Annabel Chapman, owner of Anytime Fitness Croxley Park, said: “It’s incredibly exciting to be the trailblazer for the new design of Anytime Fitness clubs.
“It’s a great location for us and we’re hoping to appeal to both the huge amount of office workers within walking distance and the wider Croxley Green community.”
