Gateshead building firm chosen for 66,000 sq ft Yorkshire warehouse scheme
Warehouse company Onward Holdings Ltd has chosen a building firm for its forthcoming 66,000 sq ft industrial development in West Yorkshire.
The family-owned business tasked Tolent Construction with creating a new warehouse facility at its Phoenix Park site, located on the Green Lane Industrial Estate in Featherstone.
With planning permission already in place, the scheme will feature 12m-high eaves, six loading doors, first floor offices, parking space for 62 cars and “state-of-the-art security systems”, according to Onward.
Neil Storey, director at Onward Holdings, said: “Planning permission and the constructors are in place to build the new warehouse at Phoenix Park.
“It will be available as a bespoke unit or managed 3PL warehouse and should be ready to lease in around six months.”
How the scheme could look
He added: “We are anticipating a surge of interest in this prime site due to hugely competitive market for suitable, quality warehousing.”
Tolent Construction is headquartered in Gateshead and operates several regional offices, including teams in Leeds, London and Middlesbrough.
Onward’s new site is being jointly promoted by Iain McPhail of Knight Frank and Andrew Miller from Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors.
It is forecast to be available to lease by the end of June 2019.
