Grocer and deli plots London expansion with £250k crowdfund
Grocer and deli business Melrose and Morgan has embarked on a six-figure crowdfund.
The firm, which operates two shops in Primrose Hill and Hampstead, is targeting £250k in a campaign launched this week on funding platform Crowdcube.
Melrose and Morgan will use cash raised to expand into new neighbourhoods around London.
The plan is to open two additional shops in 2019, with a goal of 10 shops by 2022.
Melrose and Morgan sources artisanal produce and makes its own products in-house, selling through its two shops, an e-commerce website and via independent retailers.
The company was founded in 2004 by business partners Ian James and Nick Selby, who were inspired by the quality and diversity of the produce they saw at Farmers Markets.
The campaign went public on Friday (December 14). At the time of writing, Melrose and Morgan had raised over £71k from 27 investors.
