Residents Rise to The Occasion for Charitable Bake Off
Residents at David Wilson Homes’ Saxon Gate development in Stamford Bridge donned their aprons for a charitable cause, going head-to-head in a festive, community bake off competition. The delicious bakes were judged by The Balloon Tree Farm’s Head Baker, Simon Rimmington - in total, the residents raised an impressive £50 which will be donated to Stamford Bridge Community Pool.
The stirring competition provided a great opportunity for residents living on the Saxon Gate development to build a real sense of community spirit – sharing stories and experiences related to their chosen charitable causes whilst enjoying a bounty of fresh, homemade treats.
The winning baker was Alastair Gill, a father with a passion for home cooking - Alastair donated the money raised to Stamford Bridge Community Pool to help maintain the leisure facility. For his baking achievements, Alastair received a £50 voucher for The Balloon Tree Farm and a The Great British Bake Off book to practice further mouth-watering recipes.
Jessica Stone, Sales Adviser at Saxon Gate, commented: “For our community to come together and organise a charitable event like this is wonderful. We have such a strong sense of community at Saxon Gate and are overjoyed that our renowned local business, The Balloon Tree Farm also dedicated their time to judge the event. Stamford Bridge Community Pool is a great local, facility enjoyed by children and adults alike so we were overjoyed to hear that Alastair selected this cause to donate to.”
