Local housebuilder hosts Festive storytelling with Santa

Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes North East, recently hosted the youngest children from Green Lane Church of England Primary School at their Five Acres development in Barnard Castle for a festive storytelling with Santa. The event involved a reading of classic tale The Snowman and the Snow Dog, as well as interactive quizzes for the pupils.

The housebuilder arranged for Santa to help spread some festive cheer in the run up to the Christmas holidays, through a unique telling of the Raymond Briggs classic and a specially designed festive quiz.

Christie Edge, Sales Manager at Five Acres, commented, “It was a really lovely event to host, and we were delighted to see the children’s faces when they arrived and saw that Santa had come all the way from the North Pole to tell them a story in our show home, which was all decorated for Christmas. We work really hard to build links in the communities in which we build, and so hope to do further activities with schools in the future.”

Anthea Enzor, School Business Manager at Green Lane Church of England Primary School, said: “We were delighted to accept the invitation to bring our FoundationStage pupils down to the development to meet Santa and listen to the classic story told in an exciting and interactive way. The children loved their morning trip and left the development feeling very festive and excited for their Christmas! We want to thank the David Wilson team for their continued work with our school and also Tony Junior for his brilliant telling.”
