Ignata CEO Luke Williams Awarded OBE in 2019 New Year Honours List
Luke Williams, CEO of global recruitment specialist Ignata, has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in this year’s New Year Honours List for his services to small and medium sizes enterprises.
Luke Williams was recognised for his part in the creation and development of The Start Up Loans Company, an independent company funded by the Government to provide startup loans to people wanting to start a business in the UK. They offer pre-business support, low cost personal loans and mentoring to help people in the early stages of their business development and growth.
Luke Williams said: “I joined the business when it was merely an idea and a £10m pilot scheme. I left following the merger with the British Business Bank, when we had provided £400m of lending to help set up over 50,000 new businesses. The scheme has been very successful, reaching all part of the UK and it has provided a strong Value for Money impact for the UK and delivered £4 of economic benefit for every £1 spent. I am hugely proud to have played a part of this UK success story.”
With a track record in leading and investing in professional services and consultancy businesses, Luke has led Ignata’s successful expansion, overseeing a number of acquisitions and international growth. Ignata is now one of the UK’s leading recruitment consultancies, with services spanning across many sectors from finance to international fashion.
