80 Years a Gentleman

Peter Wade, is a Service Driver at the Swansway Honda Bolton on Queensway in the town; nothing much unusual about that you might think, until you find out that Peter is celebrating his 80th birthday.

Peter is much loved, both by the team at the dealership and its customers, for his kindness and gentlemanly ways. Aftersales Manager at the site, Brian Day, commented, “Peter has a smile on his face, rain or shine and he’s always a total gentleman. He really does brighten up our day and customers love his kindness and courtesy”.

“It’s hard to believe he’s celebrating his 80th birthday, because he just doesn’t look it or act it! We’ve had a collection from everyone in the team and we’re letting Peter decide what he’d like to buy, we got him a birthday cake, but in true Peter style, he celebrated his birthday by buying every single person in the dealership pasty and peas! What a gent”, added Brian.

Peter has worked at the dealership for 4 years and isn’t thinking of hanging up his driving gloves anytime soon and loves meeting new people every day and feeling valued by the close-knit team.

Swansway Motor Group director, David Smyth, commented, “Age has nothing to do with your ability to engage and delight customers, Peter is proof of that and as a family-owned business we cherish our older team members, they have an awful lot to teach us. Happy birthday to an absolute gentleman”.
