Team behind Southwark fried chicken restaurant CheeMc to open new Japanese-Korean concept
A new Korean concept from the minds behind fried chicken eatery CheeMc is launching in the central London.
Opening at 20 Eastcheap, Unimini will offer bespoke Korean and Japanese-inspired lunchboxes.
Customers will choose either rice or noodles and then select from a menu of ingredients, including kimchee, meat, vegetables and sashimi, to build their own lunchbox.
Corporate advisory firm CDG Leisure secured the premises for Unimini’s debut site.
Lee Wooyung of CheemMC, who also operates Waterloo-based restaurant GoGo Pocha, said: “This new concept will extend our business to meet the growing demand for good takeaway options in central London.
“Hungry tourists and workers will be able to eat quickly and for excellent value, all while being able to construct their bento boxes in a way that is completely tailored to them.”
CDG Leisure’s Tom Crosthwaite acted for the site’s previous tenant.
He commented: “Unimini will fit well into this area of The City, which is developing rapidly in terms of retail and leisure.
“With the operator’s expertise in Korean cuisine, the restaurant is guaranteed to be a welcome addition to the lunchtime offer in this area.”
