Bedlington-based Eminent Engineering targets turnover growth with Small Loan Fund investment

Northumberland’s Eminent Engineering is aiming to double its turnover and create jobs with the help of a £50k investment.

The company will use the funding, secured via the North East Small Loan Fund Supported By The European Regional Development Fund, to take on around five new staff and increase sales from £650k to £1.25m over the next three years.

Bedlington-based Eminent Engineering offers design, fabrication and installation services for specialist steel and metalwork on projects ranging from shopping centres and residential properties to leisure centres, business parks and educational facilities.

The firm has also worked on log flume rides at theme parks in the US, Finland and Sweden.

Eminent’s client base includes big building firms like Galliford Try plc, Esh Construction and Tolent.

Paul Milsted, managing director at Eminent, said: “We have a highly-skilled design and fabrication team in place and the quality of the work that they do speaks for itself.

“Putting a greater focus on the sales and marketing side of the business will help us further expand the range of opportunities that they have to put their skills to practical use on behalf of a growing number of clients.”

He continued: “We’re confident that substantially increasing both our turnover and workforce is well within our grasp, and now have the financial resources in place that we needed to put our plans into action.”

Eminent secured the £50k Small Loan Fund investment through NEL Fund Managers.

NEL Fund Managers investment executive Jane Siddle commented: “The Eminent Engineering team has both the technical and commercial know-how to realise even more of the business’s potential, and we would expect to see the positive impact of this investment coming through quickly.”
