Mexican vegan food business Club Mexicana to open Burger Bar in Hackney
Mexican vegan food company Club Mexicana is opening a new concept in Hackney.
Launching at Netil Market, Burger Bar will offer Mexican-twists on classic burgers reimagined as vegan dishes.
Club Mexicana was founded by London street food chef Meriel Armitage and also operates at the Dinerama culinary market in Shoreditch and The Spread Eagle vegan pub, Homerton.
Alongside a menu that includes dishes like Club Mexicana’s ‘Mexican Fried Chick’n Burger’ and Sticky Glazed ‘Ribs’, the Burger Bar concept will serve its own pale ale created in partnership with craft beer company Beer52.
The venue will open at Netil Market on January 26.

Founder Meriel said: “We’ve wanted to collaborate with Netil Market again for ages as we are big fans of their market.”
Club Mexicana’s first ever street food, she explained, was held on the rooftop of Netil House.
Meriel continued: “There’s something quite nostalgic for us returning with our new Burger Bar.”
“We want it to be a place where we can try new ideas, run specials and collaborations, whilst getting back to our street food roots putting us face to face with the most important people – our customers!”
