Europa Way scheme moves to the next stage
The land sale for a major housing development between Warwick and Leamington Spa, which is set to bring a significant housing boost to the local area, has completed. Once finalised in six years’ time, the whole scheme, including housing, will be worth in excess of £100 million. The project will be delivered by leading regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships, supported by law firm Shakespeare Martineau, who advised on all aspects of the land acquisition and planning elements attached to the scheme.
Sited between Leamington Spa and the M40, the new development will deliver 375 new homes to the local area, as well as vital infrastructure improvements, and educational and retail facility along with a stadium in readiness for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The development, located to the north of Gallows Hill, forms part of a wider scheme which will deliver 735 new homes, to the area.
Galliford Try Partnerships will also be responsible for the construction of a spine road which will carry all utilities to the new development and link it to Europa Way itself.
Caroline Irvine, head of commercial property in the Stratford office of law firm, Shakespeare Martineau, said: “We’ve worked with Galliford Try Partnerships for a number of years now on several pieces of work including lease renewals, land purchases, corporate acquisitions and most recently, this major local scheme.
“The Europa Way development is a significant project for the local area and will bring a much-needed housing and infrastructure boost. The project hasn’t been without its challenges, but through close collaboration between Galliford Try Partnerships, Shakespeare Martineau, the local authority and other third parties, work is now ready to begin. We’re looking forward to watching the scheme take shape over the coming months.”
Darren Beale, regional director, West Midlands, at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “This is a huge development opportunity for us in Leamington and represents a significant contribution to the new build local housing market in the area. We are very pleased to have worked with Shakespeare Martineau again to bring forward this high-quality project.”
