Tees Valley based Care protect invests in Belfast monitoring hub
Yarm-based Care Protect is making a £200,000 commitment at its monitoring hub in Belfast, in anticipation of increasing demand for its safeguarding technology, both in the UK and overseas.
New clients within the UK, including a pilot scheme for a major care provider aimed at reducing the number of falls within its care homes, and a surge of interest in Australia in light of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Royal Commission have led to a period of sustained growth and further investment for the business.
The company has tripled the size of its Belfast site and increased its independent, professional reviewing team to more than 30, with further recruitment ongoing. New members of the team were introduced to the business over lunch recently at Northern Ireland’s parliament buildings at Stormont in Belfast.
In addition, ongoing upgrades to the Care Protect software and its surveillance and monitoring systems continue to enhance its safeguarding capabilities.
Ben Wilson, Business Development Director at Care Protect, said: “We are investing heavily in our technology, premises and, importantly, in the team of experienced sector professionals, who provide the independent monitoring that underpins the Care Protect system.
“While there is still a long way to go, forward-thinking operators are understanding the substantial benefits that improved safeguarding systems brings.
“Clients currently utilising the system report very positive outcomes including increased occupancy, sustained improvements in care delivery, declining agency expenditure and a reduction in safeguarding events.
“Combining the use of state-of-the-art technology with the judgement of professional experienced people Care Protect is offering peace of mind, promoting high-quality care standards and consistent high levels of vulnerable person safeguarding.”
