Paul Crowther, SSB Compliance

SSB Compliance has appointed Paul Crowther to its team.

Paul is well known in the legal sector having spent nearly 15 years as sales and marketing director at Mobile Doctors, the UK’s number one medical reporting service, which was bought by Quindell.

He said: “Compliance matters remain the number one concern for a large number of law firms of all sizes.

“I’m joining SSB to develop the range of services and solutions we can provide and expand the number of business we support.

“Andrew McLauchlan and the rest of the team have a lifetime of knowledge and expertise that Solicitors can tap into, giving them peace of mind and enabling them to focus on managing and growing their own practices.”

SSB Compliance is part of the SSB Group, which also include the SRA regulated law firms SSB Law in Sheffield, Imperium Law in Macclesfield and FCA regulated SSB Financial Services.

Paul Royston, Hmi Elements

Specialist hazardous area computer manufacturers, HMi Elements, has appointed Paul Royston as its new managing director as they target 20 per cent growth in 2019.

Royston joins the firm from the Pexion Group where he was divisional managing director of five businesses, including Knaresborough-based precision engineering firm Claro.

He brings with him over three decades of engineering and manufacturing experience across a range of industries including oil and gas, which will improve HMi’s production process, product development and overall company profitability.

HMi owner and chairman, Howard Gould, said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to the business at this crucial time. We have targeted 20 per cent growth this year and Paul’s appointment is a key one in helping us achieve that target.

“Our aim is to improve profitably through increased sales, launching new products as well as process efficiencies and Paul, with his many years of experience, can help us achieve this on all fronts.”

Richard Cross, Soanes Poultry

A regional poultry supplier has created a new sales position to support the growing business.

Middleton-on-the-Wolds-based Soanes Poultry has appointed Richard Cross to the new position of territory sales manager.

38-year-old Richard joins Soanes from Flair Supplies Group in Driffield and will be responsible for gaining new business in the retail and shops categories and developing the award winning business’s current customer base.

Richard said: “It’s a very exciting time to be joining Soanes and I’m looking forward to visiting existing and prospective new clients to share the Soanes story, including our award winning chicken, 72 years of heritage and Yorkshire provenance.

“The team at Soanes is a great mix of people who have worked here for a number of years yet still have fresh ideas that help the business continue to grow.”

Roy Shelton, Connectus

Connectus, the Doncaster-headquartered technology provider, has appointed ‘industry leader’, Roy Shelton.

With product development, key hires and the strategic acquisition of cyber and data specialist Cybersity, the business is looking to drive organic and acquisitive growth over the next three years.

Connectus was formed following the acquisition of Eximus Solutions 12 months ago. Shelton is now leading the business in his role as managing director.

Working with the existing technical and engineering team, the business has bolstered all areas, supported by its £150k investment from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) by FW Capital in December 2018.

Andrew Tame, Franks Accountants

Andrew Tame has been appointed as associate director at Franks Accountants.

Based in Wetherby for the last five years, Franks Accountants have grown steadily, now employing 10 people, with plans to recruit another three by the end of this year and the same again in 2020.

Andrew joins us from one of the largest independent practices in Yorkshire, previously heading up the accounts and audit department.

He said: “I’m a firm believer that client relationships should be based on honesty and trust, done with a personal yet professional touch.

“I’m passionate about good service and adding value through pro-activity with clients.”
