Barratt Developments North East appoints new Managing Director

Barratt Developments North East, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes’ brands, has recently announced the appointment of Carl Sobolewski as Managing Director, after holding the position of Finance and then Operations Director at the company previously.

Carl, who has worked with Barratt Developments for 11 years, initially began work as a Finance Graduate in the East Midlands division through the ASPIRE programme. After progressing to become Finance Director in the Northampton Division, Carl then moved back to his home in the North East as Finance Director of this region in 2017. Following this, Carl became Operations Director in August 2018, and after leading the division over this period, has now been appointed as Managing Director of Barratt Developments North East.

During his decade with Barratt Developments, Carl has worked closely with the Divisional and regional management teams of both the East and Northern regions, bringing with him a vast wealth of experience to the new role.

Commenting on the appointment, Carl said: “I have worked across a variety of roles in the Barratt business during my 11 year career with the housebuilder, and I am very proud to be taking on my new role in what is an exciting time for Barratt Developments North East. This year, we’re building four new developments and continuing in our commitment to support the local economy and local tradespeople. I’m confident the company will go from strength to strength as we continue to build homes across the North East.”
