York’s Document Logic Ltd snaps up Rochdale counterpart
York-based print and IT services provider Document Logic Ltd has acquired its counterpart in Rochdale.
Document Logic, a £5m-turnover business and partner of printer giant Xerox, snapped up Document XL to expand its foothold in the Greater Manchester area.
The company was advised on the funding and acquisition by Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott, whose corporate finance team worked closely with Document Logic MD Simon Wood to negotiate the deal and provide due diligence.
Simon commented: “Following the acquisition of Barrett Business Machines in Huddersfield in January 2018, this is the perfect next step, and progression in the growth of Document Logic.
“In terms of the geography it is ideal and gives us a new office and customer base in the Manchester area, giving us offices right across the North, but as Document XL are also a Xerox reseller, bringing Document XL on board, is the perfect fit for our current Xerox business model.”
The Garbutt + Elliott team was led by partner Tony Farmer and included corporate finance manager Mark Phillips and corporate finance executive Richard Weston.
Mr Farmer said: “We have been delighted to be a part of this deal and to help Simon continue the growth of what is already a leading business.
“We look forward to seeing Document Logic’s presence increase, both within the Yorkshire region and beyond.”
The value of the deal was undisclosed.
For the legal elements of the transaction, Garbutt + Elliott worked with solicitor Philip Downing of Hessle-based Downing Legal.
