Leonard Curtis Legal appoints James Thompson as Senior Associate
Leonard Curtis Legal has appointed James Thompson as Senior Associate Solicitor.
He will work within the firm’s corporate and commercial division, providing advice to accountants and their SME clients on an array of legal matters including shareholder agreements, sale and purchases of businesses and advice on supplier, customer and other commercial contracts.
James is the latest addition to the Leonard Curtis Legal team following ongoing strong performance from the firm that was launched just over two years ago by Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group (LCBSG).
Headcount at the Manchester city centre firm – which has also moved into new offices to accommodate the rapid growth of business and therefore team – now stands at 10.
Thompson (35) joins Leonard Curtis Legal from leading independent unified communications provider Daisy Group, where he held the position of Senior Legal Counsel.
A law graduate from the University of Manchester, James’ career spans 13 years in a number of positions - both in-house, for the likes of BAE Systems, and at leading law firms such as Pinsent Masons - in senior management roles.
James originates from Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire. Despite the move south, he remains a staunch Middlesbrough FC fan.
Head of Leonard Curtis Legal, Andrew Gregory, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to the firm and he’s already playing a key role in the development and growth of the business.
“I’m very proud of the success that we have achieved in such a short space of time. I believe our growth and the quality of our work is a testament to it is the calibre of staff, such as James, that we are now able to attract.”
James Thompson commented: “One of the main attractions to joining Leonard Curtis Legal was working with SMEs and their accountant advisers on every conceivable legal issue. Having come from big organisations where specific roles and responsibilities are allocated, it’s so refreshing to now work across an entire case – sometimes with other Group divisions and on others as an independent firm.”
