Leeds Mind partners with local law firm
Corporate law firm Shulmans has announced it will be supporting Leeds Mind as its charity of the year for 2019.
Current research suggests that one in four people will experience a mental health difficulty in their lifetime. Leeds Mind is an independent charity which delivers a wide range of services right across the Leeds area. Founded in 1972, it aims to help people build on their strengths, overcome obstacles, and become more in control of their lives.
Shulmans will be hosting a series of fundraising events throughout the year, including a bake sale on ‘Time to Talk Day’, a clothes drop and a charity ball as well as implementing a number of wellbeing initiatives and training sessions to raise awareness of mental health issues in the workplace.
Elizabeth Smitten from the Shulmans CSR team commented: “As a firm we place a great deal of emphasis on charitable and community activities and our charity of the year is chosen by our employees. This year we were overwhelmed with votes for Leeds Mind and are thrilled to be able to work alongside its inspirational team to help educate more people on mental health and raise funds to enable Leeds Mind to help as many people as possible.”
Charli Brunning, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Leeds Mind said: “We are extremely grateful to have the support of Shulmans throughout 2019. After a fantastic initial meeting in January, I am very excited about the next 12 months which will see us working together across a number of platforms including fundraising, awareness raising and training.”
