Newcastle-based energy comparison startup launches pricing platform
A business energy benchmarking startup in Newcastle has launched a pricing tool to help reduce the £500m that companies reportedly overspend annually.
Troo is the company behind troocost.com, a new platform enabling businesses to instantly compare the energy market and see the best prices available.
The firm said its pricing tool has allowed customers who previously used an energy broker to save as much as 30% on their bills.
According to Troo, the platform is free to use and instantly generates reliable, fair annual prices using unique energy meter references.
Andrew Richardson, the company’s founder and CEO, said: “This is a completely new addition to the market, offering a quick and easy solution.
“There is no hidden cost or commission in the prices, no obligation to sign up or select our prices. Businesses can self-serve as a ready reckoner and price-checking service. We are putting the power back in their hands.”
He added: “Research has shown that UK firms are paying up to £500m too much for their energy every year. We want to change that.”
