Sodexo Engage supports Random Acts of Kindness Week by launching new initiative
Sodexo Engage, specialists in employee and consumer engagement, has today announced its new initiative to promote kindness in the workplace. #KindnessIsContagious, in celebration with the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Foundation, will focus on spreading kind acts across the business and Sodexo’s existing client base.
Starting from Monday 11th February and running the whole of Random Acts of Kindness Week, #KindnessIsContagious will see Sodexo Engage provide random spot prizes to end users and clients, with the opportunity for these individuals to share an additional prize with someone else, spreading the kindness across the clients’ own organisations.
This initiative will also be available to Sodexo Engage staff. Activities will include ‘Kindness Bingo’ where staff have to complete a list of actions throughout the week to be in for a prize and a social competition for every employee to take part in using the hashtag #KindnessIsContagious.
Staff will also be able to highlight acts of kindness by sharing their stories throughout the week. Staff can respond by providing a thank you, delivered right to the person’s desk. However, those wishing to keep their acts of kindness private can chose to remain anonymous.
Emma Yearwood, Director of HR at Sodexo Engage, comments: “All too often we forget the impact being kind has on people and their daily lives. The smallest thing can change a person’s mood, improve their day and generally make them feel more positive. With mental health, stress and general wellbeing more of a focus in the workplace, ensuring businesses are doing everything they can to create a positive atmosphere should be a top priority. It goes without saying that we should all be practicing kindness every day but having the opportunity to celebrate with the RAK Foundation and launch our own initiative for employees and clients is something that can provide a role model for other businesses to follow.”
