Stockton set for 30,000 sq ft TeamSport go-karting centre

One of the UK’s largest indoor go-karting operators is coming to Stockton-on-Tees.

TeamSport has revealed plans to open a new branch at Portrack Industrial Estate, where it signed a 20-year lease on a 30,527 sq ft unit.

The property, located on the corner of Malleable Way and Portrack Lane, was formerly home to workwear supplier Arco.

TeamSport has a portfolio of 24 karting courses across Newcastle, Leeds and Liverpool.

Commercial real estate service company Cushman & Wakefield agreed the letting on behalf of the site’s landlord, Cable Properties and Investments.

Richard Scott, partner in the firm’s Newcastle-based logistics and industrial team, said: “We are delighted to have facilitated TeamSport’s expansion in the North East and secured a long-term lease for our client”

Cable Properties’ assets and investments manager, Jon Tully, Property, commented: “We were very impressed by Teamsport’s proposals for the building and their professional approach to the deal.

“We are sure they will be an excellent addition to the area, and the letting provides an good return on our investment in the building. We are grateful to Cushman & Wakefield and DWF for their professional advice throughout.”

TeamSport Stockton will open later this year.
