Yorkshire insolvency firm partners with Sheffield RUFC
Sheffield-headquartered insolvency specialist, Wilson Field, has become the main sponsor of Sheffield RUFC.
The rugby club was founded in 1902 and following the Great War moved to its current location at Abbeydale Park in 1919.
The first XV plays in the Midlands Premier League, but the club is very much part of the local community, boasting over 20 teams covering different levels of ability, ladies and veterans teams as well as a number of youth and children’s teams.
Nick Wilson, Wilson Field’s managing director, said: “Sheffield RUFC has a long history and connection with the city. As a Sheffield-based company, Wilson Field is proud to be associated with such a local, iconic sporting institution.”
Wilson Field is a firm of business turnaround specialists and licensed insolvency practitioners. From premises at the Manor House on Ecclesall Road South, Sheffield it offers a nationwide service to businesses and individuals facing financial difficulties.
Chairman of Sheffield RUFC, Andrew Langdale, added: “We are delighted to welcome Wilson Field as our main sponsors in this important year for the club. It is our centenary year since moving to Abbeydale Park.
“This ties in with the upgrade of the clubhouse and the recent arrival of Omega at Abbeydale - providing superb catering and hospitality facilities.”
Andrew continued: “As well as the senior teams, children of all ages and ability are encouraged to come and join us to take an active part in the game rugby. This support from local businesses is vital to the club.
“It will allow us to encourage even more youngsters into the game through our youth set up.”
