Leeds based digital agency celebrates major profit increase and business growth

Search Laboratory, one of the UK’s leading digital marketing agencies with offices in Leeds, London and New York, is celebrating a period of unprecedented growth after a hugely successful 2018 for the company. The company has increased turnover by 20% to £13.2 million, while pre-tax profit for the award-winning agency increased by 49% to £1.3 million.

Experiencing a buoyant year, packed with new appointments, clients and award wins, the last 12 months has seen Search Laboratory become a Certified Company for Google Display & Video 360 and Google Search Ads 360, making the Leeds-based agency one of a select few trusted UK-headquartered agencies accredited by Google for product implementations, technical support and excellent customer service across both tools. This comes following the recent announcement that Search Laboratory has also become one of just 12 UK headquartered agencies to become a Sales Partner for GA 360.

The success of the agency has seen new business from several global brands in 2018, including Ann Summers, Moonpig and Wren Kitchens, while the work has resulted in several industry awards over the past year including winner of Biddable Team of the Year at The Drum Search Awards USA. Throughout 2018 Search Laboratory has made 47 new appointments across its three offices and as of today has a 150-strong team.

Speaking on the company’s growth, founder and executive chairman, Ian Harris said: “When I first set up Search Laboratory in 2005, it was in a tiny office in North Leeds. Today we celebrate over 150 staff, offices in Leeds, London and New York and a turnover of over £13 million. This record growth is from the hard work and dedication of the staff and I am incredibly proud of how far we have come.
