Covent Garden’s Asia de Cuba to close as hotel company plots new dining concept

The Asia de Cuba restaurant at St Martins Lane hotel in Covent Garden is closing its doors later this week.

The Chino-Latino venue, which opened in 1999, will shut down on Thursday (February 28) to make way for an Asian-inspired pop-up eatery.

St Martins Lane Kitchen, the new restaurant, will explore the cuisine of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia with starters including soft shell crab with crispy garlic, bird eye chilli and pepper; and Vietnamese Pomelo salad with cucumber, carrot, mint and peanut.

St Martins Lane hotel’s other venues, Blind Spot and The Den, will continue to operate as usual.

But later this spring, Blind Spot and the St Martins Lane Kitchen pop-up will close for refurbishment, as leisure operator sbe hotels prepares to introduce another of its dining brands to the site.

The company plans to reveal further details on the upcoming food and beverage outlet in the coming months.
