Second union joins multi-million pound Sheffield business park
Sheffield’s Meadowhall Business Park will be home to a second trade union that has acquired a 7,500 sq ft site in ARBA Group’s recently refurbished business complex.
General sector union Community will join GMB Union, which relocated to a new conference and learning hub in the multi-million pound business park in May 2018.
Community, which represents workers across sectors including manufacturing, textiles, road transport, call centres and community-care providers, will be leaving Phoenix House on Flash Lane in Rotherham to join Meadowhall Business Park.
The five-block 70,000 sq ft business park is already home to a variety of businesses employing more than 500 staff, including CapGemini, Tuffnells, NG Bailey, Chique Photography, KitchenEx, Wilford Smith and Eaton Commercial Property Consultants Ltd.
Richard Burns, director at ARBA Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome another major trade union as Community relocates to Meadowhall Business Park.
“The acquisition confirms the union’s commitment to the region and its workers, but also bolsters the profile of the park by complementing a broad spread of businesses.”
