Name revealed for Exemplar Health Care’s new Hull development
Exemplar Health Care has revealed the name for its upcoming care home in Hull.
Following a vote by residents of the Yorkshire-based company’s other homes, its new facility on Wheeler Street will be called St Andrew’s Court - a nod to the city’s historical St Andrew’s Dock.
Once operational, the centre will have 20 placements for adults living with complex needs, including people with physical and neuro disabilities, mental-ill health and dementia.
Building firm Constructa Services is delivering the scheme in a former elderly care home property, refurbishing the site to increase the size of the bedrooms and add new suite facilities throughout.
The name for the scheme was decided by Exemplar’s Service User Council, a group of resident ambassadors who collaborate with senior management to improve everyday services for their fellow residents.
Selina Wall, senior director of operations at Exemplar Health Care, said: “We’re delighted to be preparing our home in Hull for opening later this year.
“St Andrew’s Court promises to be a really positive development in the region and we’re looking forward to delivering a great standard of care for our residents who we’ll welcome in the summer.”
