Global freelance platform Fiverr opens London office

International freelancing platform Fiverr has announced it will open its first UK office in London as part of its European expansion.

The opening of the London office is part of a larger plan by Fiverr to expand in Europe, with an office in Berlin also being opened.

The two new offices will operate alongside the company’s Tel Aviv headquarters as well as offices in major US cities New York, San Francisco and Miami.

The decision to open a UK office comes as freelancing gains popularity across the country, with the Office for National Statistics reporting an increase of self-employed workers from 3.3 million people in 2001 to 4.8 million in 2017.

Fiverr CEO, Micha Kaufman explained: “Europe is Fiverr’s second largest market behind North America yet the potential opportunity to unlock more of the market segment there is huge.”

The freelancing platform operates in 160 countries connecting skilled individuals to businesses, specialising in digital industries such as graphic design, copywriting, voice overs and music and film editing.

Andrew Wray, UK country manager for Fiverr, added: “The opportunity for businesses in the UK to adapt to the shift in the way people work is huge. Two thirds of them are currently open to hiring freelancers for work in the future.

“Fiverr UK will help lead that transition while acting as a voice for freelancers and the self-employed.”
