G2O Water Technologies joins NETPark ahead of taking product to market

A company aiming to revolutionise the water filtration industry with graphene technology has moved to new headquarters in North East Technology Park (NETPark) in Sedgefield.

After securing its latest equity investment of £1m, the company has relocated to NETPark where it will work on two new projects with Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) to bring its technology to market.

Established in 2015, G2O Water Technologies specialises in the use of 2D nanomaterials such as graphene to develop cost effective water filtration.

The company plans to take on more staff as it works on commercialising its product, working in partnership with a global FMCG business to deliver water filtration solutions to developing economies.

David Pears, chief technical officer at G2O Water Technologies, said: “We looked around northern England for an appropriate base for our technology laboratory and noted the many benefits of locating our team at NETPark.

“The facilities are excellent and Business Durham has been fabulous, very helpful. It’s also extremely beneficial to have CPI on our doorstep as they are based at NETPark too. “
