North East subscription business is Dubai-bound thanks to RTC North
Sunderland based gift subscription service Geo Journey expands its operations into Dubai thanks to support from RTC North.
Geo Journey, owned by sisters Fiona Waistell and Christina Armstrong, has begun trading in the Middle East as a result of support from RTC North programmes Scaleup North East and Innovate2Succeed.
Geo Journey is an online subscription service that gifts children with travel accessories and activity packs as they virtually explore the world and space with the help of key characters Geo and Atlas.
Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the RTC North programmes are aimed at helping North East businesses grow by providing access to specialists in growth strategy and business development.
Through support from RTC North, Christina and Fiona were introduced to retailers across the UK and have embarked on a new collaboration with Dubai-based online marketplace Mumzworld.
Geo Journey founder Christina said: “Working with RTC has really helped us take our business to the next level and we are particularly excited to start trading in the Middle East.
“The opportunities we have discovered through RTC have opened new doors for us and even new international markets which is fantastic!”
Innovate2Succeed programme manager Sarah Pavlou added: “It’s great to see Christina and Fiona taking Geo Journey off to Dubai as a result of the guidance and support they received from the Innovate2Succeed advisors and the Scaleup partners.”
