Legacie Developments reveal plans for upmarket 250-bedroom Duke Street hotel

Legacie Developments has today unveiled plans to turn an existing car park in Duke Street into a luxury four-star hotel.

In what will be its first hotel development, Legacie hopes to transform the site - which has been an eyesore for over 10 years - into a thriving hotel and leisure complex. Comprising 250 bedrooms and other amenities, the multimillion pound scheme will add to the regeneration of Duke Street in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

The new-build hotel - which will form part of the city centre’s key route network - signals the latest regeneration proposal for the top part of Duke Street. Over the last couple of years, it has attracted a mix of independent hotels, new restaurants and shops.

The proposal will go to the City Council’s planning committee in the coming months.

The developer, which has been successful in delivering a string of high-profile residential schemes across the city - including Ropemaker Place on Renshaw Street, Reliance House on Water Street and the forthcoming Parliament Square development in the Baltic triangle - will start work on the hotel in late summer 2019.

Legacie Developments founder, John Morley, said:

“I believe our proposals will help inject some excitement into what has proved to be an incredibly popular part of the city centre in recent years.”

Legacie Developments say over two-hundred jobs will be created as part of the building process.
