Regional businesses head to Sunderland for sea and space opportunities

The National Glass Centre in Sunderland will welcome regional sea and space companies for Business Durham’s Discover the Possibilities: Into the Blue conference this week.

The conference comes after news that the UK space sector is expected to reach £40bn by 2030, and the environmental implications of sea based industry continues to be debated.

This year’s conference tomorrow (March 28) will examine the origins and future for the growing sea and space industries, the environmental challenges and expansion opportunities within the sectors.

Leaders speaking at the event will include UK Space Agency commercial space director Claire Barcham as well as solutions architect for the Scottish Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications Jimmy Slaughter, as well as local businesses and sea and space specialists.

With sea and space sectors growing across the country and particularly in the North East, the event hopes to highlight relevant opportunities for regional businesses.
