CPI welcomes printable electronics firms into cutting-edge facility

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) has welcomed printable electronic companies Silent Sensors, Datatecnics Corporation and HP1 less than a year after opening.

Based in Newton Aycliffe, the CPI will provide its new tenants an incubator space with cutting-edge equipment and technology to support electronic product development.

Datatecnics Corporation will use the new facility to work on its flagship technology, the Critical Infrastructure Pipeline Protection System (CIPPS), which harnesses flexible electronics to deliver an ‘intelligent pipe’ system capable of predicting bursts and preventing water loss on a vast scale.

Silent Sensors has moved into the new facility to build upon existing work with CPI at its Sedgefield NETPark-based printable electronics hub, while HP1 Technologies will use CPI’s facilities to continue developing a low-cost printable pressure sensor capable of measuring high force values.
