Belmayne partners hit road to raise foundation funds

Two sporty financial planners from Dronfield-based Belmayne Independent are preparing to tackle a series of endurance events to raise money for local charities.

Partners, Martin Birch and Ben Smalley, will be running and cycling their way around the region in a bid to raise awareness and funds for the Belmayne Foundation.

First out of the blocks will be Martin, who is taking on the Dronfield 10K on April 7. He and Ben will then unite for the Sheffield Half Marathon a week later, before the baton passes to Ben who will be cycling his way around the Tour of Yorkshire on May 5.

The pair and their fellow Belmayne partners, David Bashforth and Jon Stevens, have established their own charitable foundation to raise funds for small local groups, serving the firm’s hometown. In this inaugural year, all money raised will be split equally between Sheffield Riding for the Disabled, The Welcome Club in Dronfield, the Third Holmesfield Scout Group and Neurocare.

Martin said: “Both Ben and I enjoy distance events and using our love of sport to benefit the charities we are supporting this year seemed like a great opportunity to kick off our fundraising. After months of preparation, we are looking forward to finally hitting the road and we hope our friends, colleagues and professional partners will spur us along by donating generously.”
