360 new homes in the pipeline for North East seaside town
Regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships has signed a deal to build 360 new homes in Redcar.
In a deal with government public body Homes England, the firm will deliver the new homes on a site earmarked for housing, west of Kirkleatham Lane and north of the police station.
Work is expected to begin on the housing development in 2020 with scheduled completion due in 2026.
Sean Egan, Managing Director for Galliford Try Partnerships North, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Homes England to accelerate the delivery of much-needed new homes in Redcar.
“We share Homes England’s ambition to help more people access better homes in the right places. With a proven track record of delivery, we look forward to playing our part in making this a reality for communities in Redcar and beyond.”
The residential focus of regeneration in Redcar follows news of a £3m environment scheme to improve public spaces, and complements the council’s overall plans to revive the seaside town.
