Sunderland homes brought into the modern age with Gentoo Group investment

Homes in an area of Sunderland are said to be more energy efficient due to significant Gentoo Group investment.

Following the refurbishment of 10 properties, residents living in Easington Lane are said to be benefiting from this transformation.

Housing association, Gentoo Group is working in partnership with Esh Living, and has modernised the appearance of the homes after completing major external works.

Gentoo Group’s project manager, Steve Robertson, said: “It has been a great external scheme to be involved with, I am very proud of the design of the finished properties and the long-term benefits this will bring our customers.

“Thank you to all involved from Gentoo’s Asset Management Team and Esh Living for delivering a successful scheme.”

The 13-week project included the renewal of external windows, doors, boundary walls, render and cladding and is part of Gentoo Group’s programme, continually investing in customer homes.

Thousands of customers across Sunderland are said to be benefiting from this four-year investment plan which is underway and includes the replacement of windows, doors and kitchens, roofing and external wall repairs.

Brian Anderson, Esh Living’s contracts manager, added: “It’s great to have been involved in another successful scheme with Gentoo Group where we have carried out improvement works to properties in the Sunderland area making them energy efficient.”
