Unison secures new Leeds premises in £3.6m deal

Public services trade union Unison has bought a new central Leeds office supported by chartered surveyor firm Eddisons in a £3.6m deal.

Unison will be relocating its Yorkshire and Humberside branch to the newly purchased Quayside House on the south bank of the River Aire.

The three-storey 13,000 sq ft building was formerly the home of wealth management firm Investec, who have moved into a new property at Wellington Place.

Commenting on the purchase, Eddisons agency director Steven Jones said: “This undoubtedly represents a sound move for Unison as its presence in the region grows.”

The move by Unison follows an influx of investment into the area, including the £210m X1 South Bank development and redevelopment of Leeds Station.

Steven continued: “The ongoing transformation of the South Bank area of the city, one of the most ambitious and largest regeneration schemes anywhere in Europe, is increasing demand for quality office space and is set to transform the area.”
