DiscoBarre Hackney
DiscoBarre is coming to Hackney.

A new 'disco dance' workout is popping up in Hackney this month

This month sees the launch of the first standalone DiscobarreTM Studio in Dalston, Hackney, as part of new pop up retail space ‘The Factory Dalston’.

The area will be home to local and independent fashion, art, holistic and creative brands.

Grown from the original DiscobarreTM concept, a ballet-barre workout set to underground house music and disco, the brand’s studio offers a ‘safe’ space for users to exercise and socialise.

The class’ music is mixed by DiscobarreTM’s founder Sophie Ritchie, who aims to ‘banish gym boredom’ with an upbeat workout.

On the studio opening, Sophie said: ‘It’s my mission to make people feel comfortable in their body and confident in the way they move.

“I wanted to create a fun and relaxed and supportive environment where people can come and dance like no one’s watching and get a seriously powerful workout but with a focus on how you feel not how you look.’

The DiscobarreTM Studio will also be the official home of the original Lotte Berk Technique, a barre workout which helped women from the 1960s.
